Description
In 12 short quartet pieces (suitable for recorders, viols or Broken Consort), Raphael B. Meyer addresses the moon, shooting stars, fireflies and other nocturnal events. The composer skilfully mixes the styles of the 16th/17th century with sound painting that resembles contemporary Nordic choral literature.
The pieces are written for low scoring (to be played on recorders in the 4′ register with Tr/T/B/B or in the 8′ register with B/Gb/Sb/Sb).
In the viol consort, the pieces should preferably be scored with 2 tenor viols and XNUMX bass viols. Alternatively, the first part can also be played on a treble viol, an octavated part excerpt can be downloaded free of charge in the download area of this issue.
