Description
Based on traditional Scottish melodies from the 16th to 20th centuries, Raphael B. Meyer arranged the movements included in this edition for trio scoring. The pieces are particularly effective in a recorder, viol or string ensemble, but can also be played in a mixed trio with any instrumentation. The melody part has the original lyrics and can therefore also be played back vocally.
The pieces can also be played in a duo with a melody instrument (or singing) and piano accompaniment. For transposing instruments (e.g. clarinet, trumpet, horn, saxophone) there are excerpts of the first part in Bb, Eb and F in the download area of this issue.
